Amazonas intensifies vaccination against Covid-19 in seven show houses, in Manaus

MANAUS – More than 50 artists are confirmed in the “Vaccination Show”, which happens from 4 pm this Saturday, 12, in Manaus. The campaign is promoted by the Government of Amazonas, in partnership with the city hall, and during the action there will be doses against Covid-19 in seven show houses in the capital, until 4pm, to the sound of pagode, forró, boi-bumbá, sertanejo and arrocha. Launched by the governor of Amazonas, Wilson Lima (Union Brazil), the action aims to expand the opportunity to update the vaccination schedule against the disease.

The 1st and 2nd doses will be offered to people from 12 years old, in addition to the booster dose. According to the State Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, during the vaccination period there will be musical attractions in all concert venues. Almost 200 thousand people, in Manaus, have not yet returned to take the second dose against the disease.

According to governor Wilson Lima, the vaccination should receive many people to take the doses, because many were with the disease for a month, because of the high cases in January and February that made it impossible for people to take the vaccine.

“It is important that everyone comes to get vaccinated, it is important that we get immunized. Who hasn’t taken the first dose, come and take it, who hasn’t taken the second dose can also come, the third dose; because this is the most powerful weapon we have against Covid-19”, said Lima.

Each person over 18 who is vaccinated will also receive a pair of tickets for the “Vaccination Show”, which will take place at 4pm, after the vaccination is over. The ticket is valid for all the event’s partner venues. Only vaccinated people can participate in the shows.

‘Vaccination Show’

The Copacabana Chopperia, in the West Zone, will present, starting at 4pm, several attractions of the boi-bumbá, such as David Assayag; and Patrick do Caprichoso. The Via Torres space, at Avenida das Torres, will bring the pagode of the Estrelas group and Pagode dos Amigos to the public who get vaccinated.

In Banho de Cascata, in the East Zone, the forró of arrocha will set the tone of the vaccination with George Japa and Aviões do Arrocha. At Rancho Sertanejo, in Parque das Laranjeiras, the rhythm fans will have Rodrigo Raniely and DJ Naty Veiga animating the “Vaccination Show”.

The public that looks for the Kalamazon vaccination center, in Cidade Nova 2, will enjoy the Márcia Novo and Xiado da Xinela show. Already in the Via Sul Hall, Japiim, the forró band Xote com Pimenta and samba group Vem K Sambar will shake the Saturday immunization.

The Studio 5 Convention Center is also a partner of the “Vaccination Show” and donated 500 tickets for the event “Flash Disco”, which will happen on March 26. The first 500 people who get vaccinated there will win 1 (one) ticket for the “Flash Disco”. Only one (1) ticket per CPF will be allowed.

The campaign is one more of the State Government’s initiatives to bring the vaccine closer to the population, encouraging immunization, and to support the entertainment sector, contributing with artists and cultural producers who had an impact on income, due to the restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The show houses will mobilize the public to comply with the vaccination scheme. About 60% of the Amazon population has already taken the second dose of the vaccine and, now, the state and the city government are seeking the other 40% who have not yet presented themselves for this stage.

Cultural mobilization

This is not the first vaccination campaign that counts with the support of cultural professionals. In February this year, during the campaign “Pra Sambar Tem que Vacinar”, 5,542 vaccines were applied in posts set up in Manaus samba school courts, in partnership with the associations.

This time, the action also has the support of professionals from the State Department of Health (SES-AM), Health Surveillance Foundation of Amazonas – Dr. Rosemary Costa Pinto (FVS-RCP) and the Municipal Health Secretariat (Semsa).

Epidemiological data

The governor pointed out that Amazonas returns to the yellow phase, of low risk for transmission of the new coronavirus, after identifying a reduction of 56% in the daily average of confirmed cases and, also, of 42% in hospital beds occupied by patients with Covid-19, besides reaching a moving average of deaths by the infection of less than two per day. The analysis comprises the period between February 23 and March 8. Yesterday, no new admissions for the disease were recorded.

On Friday, 11, after analyzing the epidemiological data, the Intersectorial Committee of Confrontation of the Covid-19, from the State Government, decided to recommend to the city halls of Amazonas that they authorize the disobligation of the use of masks in open places.

“We only got these numbers and back with the flexibilities because we are advancing and a lot in vaccination,” said the State Secretary of Health, Anoar Samad.
