‘Anitta’s Involvement’: Brazilian artist accumulates milestones in her career

MANAUS – Born on March 30, 1993, in the neighborhood of Honório Gurgel, north of Rio de Janeiro, Larissa de Macêdo Machado, artistically known as Anitta, has achieved success worldwide. On the eve of her 29th birthday, fans, friends, family and the Brazilian media are celebrating the latest achievement of the pop singer who entered the global ranking of the streaming platform Spotify, occupying the first place among the fifty most played in the world with the hit “Envolver”.

Although this is one of the Brazilian artist’s greatest achievements, Anitta already collects a number of moments that demonstrate the successful woman she has become. The singer started her musical life while still a child in the church where her family attended and gradually gained notoriety after performing in funk dances of Furacão 2000, one of her first major achievements was the music video for the song “Show das Poderosas” in 2013. The clip became the most viewed video on YouTube Brazil and reached more than 10 million views in May of that year alone.

Still in 2013, “Show das Poderosas” also remained for weeks among the best-selling songs on the digital iTunes Brazil and, in addition, it was the third most played song on Brazilian radio stations. Shortly after, in 2015, the single “Deixa ele Sofrer”, provided another achievement for the carioca becoming the first Brazilian singer to engage the top of Spotify Brazil.

Trajectory of conquests

The numerous successful songs have earned the singer and songwriter several awards such as the first Latin Grammy nomination in 2014, being the first youngest Brazilian to perform during the awards.

Business

Anitta has Technical High School in Administration at the Superior Institute of Education of Rio de Janeiro (ISERJ/FAETEC) and has already been elected by the American business and economics magazine Forbes as one of the 100 most influential celebrities in Brazil, with the position she also became the youngest artist to be listed in the publication.

Influence

In addition to Forbes, the artist made the list of Vogue Magazine as one of the 100 most influential and creative people in the world. Anitta was also the first Brazilian singer to be invited to perform on the famous New York talk show “The Tonight Show”.

International

Compounding the extensive record of being the first in great achievements, in 2021, the carioca was the first Brazilian to participate in the Video Music Awards (one of the biggest American music awards created in 1984 by MTV).

In 2021, Anitta oozed class and beauty on the red carpet of the MET Ball, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume, in New York, USA.

At One World: Together at Home, a global virtual festival aimed at raising funds for health professionals on the front lines of the fight against the coronavirus, organized by the artist Lady Gaga, the singer was the only Brazilian to take part in the action.
