BRASÍLIA (DF) – Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) was brought to tears this Tuesday, 18th, and got emotional while talking about the decision of federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL) to take a leave of absence from his parliamentary position to remain in the United States of America (USA). Bolsonaro said that Eduardo’s goal is to “fight against the Nazi-fascism that is advancing over our country.”
The statement referred to Eduardo’s decision to temporarily step away from his mandate in the National Congress and remain in the United States, where he has been for 20 days. The deputy, who claims to be persecuted by national authorities, stated that he will work to pressure Donald Trump’s government against Brazil.
“Today is a significant day for me. (With) the departure of a son, who leaves not only for a moment of patriotism. (He) leaves to fight against something similar to Nazi-fascism that is increasingly advancing over our country,” said Bolsonaro.

Decision
Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) decided to take a leave of absence from his parliamentary mandate and stay in the United States. He claims that he made the “most difficult” decision of his life because he could be arrested by order of Supreme Federal Court (STF) Minister Alexandre de Moraes. He says that Brazil is experiencing a period of exception and that he will stay in the United States to seek punishment for the magistrate.
He also claims that his father, Jair Bolsonaro, could be imprisoned and killed in jail for being accused of a coup d’état that, in his opinion, is “from Disneyland.“
“It’s not easy knowing that my father could be unjustly imprisoned and that I may never have the chance to see him in person again. I have no doubt that our enemies’ plan is to incarcerate him to assassinate him in prison or leave him there perpetually, just as would have happened to Donald Trump if he had not been re-elected now, in 2024,” said the deputy.
