BRASILIA (DF) – President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) is still hospitalized in São Paulo and is suffering from intestinal subocclusion. This is what indicated the medical bulletin issued on Monday morning, 3, by the Vila Nova Star Hospital.
According to the medical team, the president is again with the intestinal obstruction that has affected him since he was stabbed in 2018. “He is stable, under treatment and will be re-evaluated throughout this morning by the team of Dr. Antônio Luiz de Vasconcellos Macedo. At the moment, no release forecast”, the note said.
The confirmation of the hospitalization was released on Monday. The president interrupted his vacation at the Santa Catarina coast and was admitted to the Vila Nova Star Hospital, in the south zone of São Paulo, at dawn on Monday. In a statement, the Special Secretariat of Social Communication of the Presidency of the Republic (Secom) said he is doing well and will undergo tests.
New surgery still uncertain
The doctor Antônio Luiz Macedo, who operated on the president due to the stabbing he received in 2018, was spending a vacation in the Bahamas and is waiting for a flight back to Brazil to closely monitor the situation. This time, Bolsonaro may undergo a new surgery.
The ailment that afflicts the president occurs when the passage of stool through the intestine is totally or partially blocked. The obstruction prevents the passage of digested food through the intestine. The products of this digestion, such as fecal matter, intestinal gas, and digestive secretions, accumulate and increase the pressure inside the intestine. It is a mechanical factor.
