Children’s Day in Manaus has free programs to celebrate date with fun and recreation

MANAUS – Workshops, exhibitions, theater, parks, playful and educational games. These are options for those who want to enjoy Children’s Day on Tuesday, 12, in Manaus, with fun and entertainment for both adults and children. Below you can check the tips gathered by CENARIUM not only for this day, but for the whole week of celebration to the little ones. There are several free programs for families to have fun with their children.

Zoo

To start with, there is a program at the Zoo of the Jungle Warfare Instruction Center (Cigs), located on São Jorge Avenue, São Jorge neighborhood, West Zone of Manaus. The site, with opening hours from 9am to 4pm, is open for free visits since Saturday, 9, with a schedule of special activities for kids.

Because of the pandemic, to circulate in the zoo’s premises, it is mandatory that adults and children wear masks. The site currently receives only 50% of its capacity to ensure the safety of visitors. An average of two thousand daily openings are available, and visitation is free for all ages until this Tuesday, the 12th.

The springs of Mindu

With the program entitled “Springs: the heart of the Mindu stream”, the Municipal Park Springs of Mindu, on the street Andorinha, Cidade de Deus neighborhood, East Manaus, will also dedicate the morning of Tuesday, 12, to celebrate Children’s Day.

From 9am the site will have social and environmental actions aimed for children, such as trails and distribution of seedlings. In addition, the little ones will have the opportunity to see up close the Wild Pet and bee exhibitions. Visitors can also participate in an excursion to the Museum of the Amazon (Musa).

Face painting, basketball games, ping-pong, tug-of-war, movies, and the distribution of toys are some of the activities included in the children’s agenda. The activities are free of charge and do not require an appointment, and are scheduled to end at 11:30am.

City of Children

The City Park Children’s City, on the street Castro Alves, Aleixo neighborhood, South zone, is always one of the first options when the subject is special programming children. The place, which has been closed since March 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic, will reopen on Tuesday after undergoing a revitalization with new paintings, gardening and lighting and gardening, in addition to the construction of a portal of regional paintings on the stairs of the environment, a nursery and an aquarium with regional fish.

Palaces

For children and families who enjoy a cultural program, the center of the capital offers two options. The Rio Negro Palace, at Sete de Setembro Avenue, and the Palace of Justice, at Eduardo Ribeiro Avenue, will open their doors to receive visitors from 9am to 1pm.

To see the site is necessary to make an appointment via the Portal of Culture. At the Rio Negro Palace Culture Center, the programming continues after Children’s Day. On the 15th and 16th, the kids can visit the “Enchanted Palace”, from 9am to 11am.

Mindu Park

From 8am this Tuesday, the Mindu Park, at Rua Domingos José Martins, Parque Dez de Novembro, south-central zone of Manaus, will have activities such as jump rope, burn and various games of socialization for children. The entertainment will be conducted by students from the Physical Education course of the University of the State of Amazonas (UEA).

The place is open from 6am to 5pm and is usually sought after by those who enjoy hiking or even relaxing with the family under the shade of trees. Besides the games, from 11am to 12pm, there will be the 2nd edition of the “Passarinhada”, with gifts, games, face painting, and bird watching. To participate in the “Passarinhada” it is necessary to register through the Vem Passarinhar Manaus link. Registrations will be held until all vacancies are sold out.
