Find out who are the amazonian businessmen arrested with R$1.2 million in Brazil’s capital

MANAUS (AM) – Businessmen Cesar de Jesus Gloria Albuquerque, Erick Pinto Saraiva, and Vagner Santos Moitinho were arrested by the Federal Police (PF) at the Brasília International Airport with over R$1.2 million in cash this past Tuesday, the 20th. In Amazonas, they have million-dollar contracts with the City Hall of Coari, a municipality in the interior of the state, administered by Mayor Adail Pinheiro (Progressistas). The PF is investigating the seizure on suspicion of money laundering.

The businessmen informed the PF that they use the organizations they work for to enter into public contracts with municipal administrations in the region. When questioned, the suspects stated that they were traveling to the state of Goiás with the aim of purchasing materials for the respective legal entities.

CENARIUM found that the businessmen are partners in companies that have a wide range of registered activities with the Federal Revenue. According to the Federal Police, the statements provided by the passengers contained inconsistencies.

The report found that businessman Cesar de Jesus is a managing partner of the company Comercial C-J Comercio de Produtos Alimentícios LTDA, registered under CNPJ No. 31.158.755/0001-42. The company won the in-person bidding No. 015/2025-CCC from the Coari City Hall to supply Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to meet the needs of the Municipal Health Secretariat (Semsa-Coari).

Among the items supplied by C-J Comercio, and recorded in the Price Registration Minutes, are bags, backpack bags, leather boots, hats, raincoats, sun umbrellas, and unisex sneakers.

According to the National Register of Legal Entities (CNPJ), the company has an extensive list of activities such as food manufacturing, maintenance and repair of boats and floating structures, electrical installation and maintenance, installation of advertising panels, retail meat trade – butcher shops, among others.

According to the registration informed to the Federal Revenue, the company is located in the municipality of Presidente Figueiredo, 414 kilometers away from the municipality of Coari.

CENARIUM contacted the Coari City Hall to clarify the information about the relationship of the arrested businessmen with the municipal administration and is awaiting a response.

The PF stated that, in light of the facts, the investigations will be deepened, aiming at the possible expansion of the list of crimes.
