MANAUS – The mayor of Manaus, David Almeida (Avante), said on Monday, 28, that would not be ungrateful to turn his back on those who helped Manaus, in reference to the alliance with the governor of Amazonas, Wilson Lima (União Brasil). The statement was made during the announcement of the paving of the Cooperativa and Pau Rosa branches, located on BR-174, with investments of R$ 98.2 million. The recovery of the branches will benefit 1 thousand farming families.
“Through this partnership, we want to change. Talk and thank him (Wilson Lima). I want to transform the life of my city. Many came to me, you have to be a candidate for governor, every week a different proposal. I have a commitment to the people of my city. I want to be able to help those who are helping Manaus. Who extended a hand to Manaus was governor Wilson Lima and I would not be ungrateful to turn my back on my city, I would not turn my back on Manaus,” said David Almeida.

In another moment, David Almeida listed that this partnership is for the development of Manaus. “Trust me, listen to me and I will guide you so that this state and this city can be changed, if you believed in me, trust me, I want you, through this trust, to follow my guidance because what I want for Manaus is not less than what you want.
“I am not going to fight with those who want to help my city, if someone wants to reach out to help my city, I will reach out, I will talk, I will talk. My gratitude for this partnership, without egos and without vanities, I sit down with all those who want to help my city,” emphasized the mayor.
Governor Wilson Lima in his speech highlighted that the partnership between the government and the city hall is a benefit to the population of Amazonas and Manaus and that together they are bringing dignity to the people of Amazonas.
“We understand the mission we have, the size of the responsibility we have with the people of Amazonas and Manaus. It is not easy to be in the mayor’s chair and in the governor’s chair, every day we have to do an exercise and not allow vanity to go to our heads and here David, I want to recognize all the effort to make this partnership with the state government and also my commitment, we are together and nobody separates, our partnership is for the people of Amazonas, our partnership is for the people of Manaus and so it will be my brother”, affirmed the governor.
Branch Pavement
The paving of the Cooperativa and Pau Rosa branches, located on BR-174, with investments of R$ 98.2 million. The recovery of the branches will benefit 1 thousand farming families. The announcement was made during an event held at the Cooperative branch to formalize the Technical Cooperation Agreement under the “Manaus+Agro”, a program run through a partnership between the Government of Amazonas and Manaus City Hall.
With this cooperation, the State will provide human resources and inputs for the assistance and training of family farmers and support the chains of pisciculture, olericulture, fruit farming, and animal production in the rural area of the capital.
“It is important to have this partnership with the City Hall, especially with the primary sector. This is a partnership from back there, for the distribution of feed, and that today we concretize here with the paving of the Pau Rosa branch and the Cooperative branch, to guarantee not only the economic development, but the social development as well”, highlighted Wilson Lima.
The work on the branches begin in July, after the rainy season and with the end of the bidding process of the works. The mayor of Manaus, David Almeida, stressed the importance of paving the roads for the flow of production.
