MANAUS – Two cars were “swallowed” by a crater that opened in the Atlantic Avenue, south zone of Manaus, as a result of heavy rain that hit the capital of Amazonas on Thursday, December 1. Partial data from the Civil Defense registers 26 occurrences.

After severe drought, the State of Amazonas enters the month of December with rain, despite data from the Manaus Harbor indicate a decrease of three centimeters in the Negro River basin. On this same date, in the year 2021, the river had already risen six centimeters.
