MANAUS – The sister of Manaus Mayor David Almeida and current holder of the Manaus Solidarity Fund (FMS), Dulce Almeida will be the new head of the Municipal Department of Education (Semed). The department received most of the investments intended for the capital of Amazonas, in 2022, with a budget of R$ 1.860 billion.
The information was confirmed by the Manaus City Hall, in a statement, through the Municipal Communication Department (Semcom) of Manaus, on Wednesday, 16. The Manaus City Hall reported that from the next day 28 this month Dulce will assume the office. Currently, Semed has as current responsible Pauderney Avelino (União Brasil).

The justification for leaving the folder, still according to the Secretary of Communication of the City, is due to the disincompatibilização Pauderney in compliance with the Electoral Legislation.
CENARIUM MAGAZINE found out that Avelino will leave the secretariat to run in this year’s elections as a federal lawmaker, aiming for his seventh term in the House, in Brasilia. Secretary Pauderney Avelino was ahead of the secretariat also in 2013.
It is not yet known who will occupy the vacancy left by Dulce, in Manaus Solidarity Fund, but the city government stressed that at an appropriate time will be informed the new ownership of autarchy.
In the publication that announced the new management, Semcom said that Dulce Almeida is a career teacher in schools of the State Department of Education (Seduc) and the Municipal Department of Education (Semed) of Manaus . She has a post-graduate degree in Art and Multimedia from the Federal University of Amazonas (Ufam), and a post-graduate degree in Public Management.

The Municipal Secretariat of Education (Semed) has its origins in the 1970s and currently maintains links with the Municipal School Feeding Councils (CMAE) and the Council for Monitoring and Social Control of the Fund for Maintenance and Development of Basic Education and for the Valorization of Teaching (Fundeb).
For the year 2022, Semed has 27 target plans and 57 strategic plans. Among them, we highlight the goal of eradicating the conditions for violence, in schools, by 100%, through the Civic-Military Schools Project, by December 2022, to deliver 5 day-care centers and pre-schools, by December 2022, and to transform 30 schools into cultural spaces, for the communities, on weekends, by December 2022.
