MANAUS (AM) – American pop singer Lady Gaga, famous for hits like “Bad Romance” and “Just Dance”, surprised Amazonian fans by reposting, on the social media platform TikTok, a video of the Manaus-based dance group Hunter Group performing the song “Abracadabra”, recently released by the artist. Lady Gaga also commented on the performance.

“This is incredible!” she said about the dancers’ recording, showcasing their vibrant choreography at a party in the capital os Amazonas. The post quickly went viral, generating significant buzz among the artist’s followers and admirers.

Excited by the singer’s recognition, social media users praised the performance and even speculated about a possible concert in Manaus. “Gaga reposting, wow. Concert in Manaus confirmed,” said one user.

“Lady Gaga making everyone’s year,” said another. “Gaga reposting. Today, Manaus won.”

The group’s leader, Rodrigo Angelim, shared with CENARIUM his reaction upon learning of the singer’s praise. “It was shocking; we’re still processing it. It’s incredible how just one comment can make us feel so happy and fulfilled. Many times, we post to promote our work and receive support from friends and family. Having this recognition from an international artist’s account is a huge impact and extremely motivating!” he said.

Representation

The singer is considered an icon for the LGBTQIAPN+ community (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual/Aromantic/Agender, Pan/Poly, Non-Binary, and more). Earlier this month, after winning a Grammy for Best Duo/Group Performance with the song “Die with a Smile”, she celebrated the lives of transgender people, who have been targeted by persecution in the United States.

“Tonight, I want to say that trans people are not invisible. Trans people deserve love. The community must give them love, and music is love,” she said. The artist’s speech was considered a direct message to the Trump administration, which has taken measures against this community.

Concert in Brazil

Lady Gaga is preparing a massive concert on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro on May 3. The contract between the Rio de Janeiro City Hall and the production company Bonus Track for the event was signed last week.

The contract authorizes the free event for “1 million people.” It will be the largest audience of the American artist’s entire career—who has only performed in Brazil once, in 2012.

After performing in Rio that year, the singer tattooed the city’s name with a cross, writing “Rio of God”. The tattoo was inspired by a fan’s drawing, which was handed to her backstage after the concert.
