BOA VISTA (RR) – Five bodies have been discovered in a clandestine graveyard located in a forest area between the neighborhoods of Pricumã and Cinturão Verde in the western zone of Boa Vista, the capital of Roraima State, near the border with Venezuela. The search began on Monday, the 21st, led by Tactical Forces from the Special Police Operations Battalion (Bope).
According to the Roraima Civil Police (PC-RR), after locating the first bodies, officers alerted the Homicide Division (DGH), which dispatched agents to the site. In addition to Bope, officers from the Riot Police Battalion, as well as the Forensic and Legal Medicine Institutes, assisted in the search efforts.
During the initial search, police discovered three bodies, along with clothing and bags of lime—a powder used to control odors and prevent soil contamination by decomposing fluids. These materials were found near the graves. Shortly after, two more bodies were uncovered.

By 6:30 PM on Monday, the PC-RR reported that a total of five bodies had been found during excavations. The victims have not yet been identified. Among the bodies were two women, buried in the same grave, embracing each other.
According to preliminary information provided by DGH delegate Luís Fernando, investigations suggest the site may have been used as a clandestine cemetery, possibly connected to criminal activities involving a group of Venezuelans.
Security forces have organized a task force at the location to conduct a thorough search of the area for additional bodies. So far, four individuals have been detained on suspicion of involvement in concealing the bodies. Investigations are ongoing to determine their roles.
The delegate noted that logistical challenges in the area have complicated the search efforts. The operation will continue, and updates will be provided as the case progresses.
