MANAUS (AM) – The Federal Police (PF) launched an operation on the morning of this Wednesday, the 12th, to investigate and prevent threats against the life of the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). The investigations began after a man, whose identity has not been disclosed, posted threats on social media about carrying out an attack against the president during his visit to the capital of Pará. Lula has scheduled engagements in Belém this Thursday, the 13th, and Friday, the 14th.
Given the seriousness of the situation, the PF requested judicial measures against the suspect from the Federal Court in Pará. A search and seizure warrant was executed, along with the imposition of precautionary measures, including the use of an electronic ankle monitor and a restriction preventing the suspect from approaching locations where the president is present.

The suspect was interrogated and fitted with an electronic ankle monitor. Investigations are ongoing to clarify all details of the case.
Visit to the North
President Lula began his scheduled engagements on Tuesday, the 11th, in the capital of Amapá, where he inaugurated the Nelson dos Anjos residential complex. The state leader is also expected to sign a service order for the start of construction on a Federal Institute in the capital of Amapá.
This Thursday, the 13th, Lula is set to travel to the capital of Pará, Belém, where on Friday, the 14th, he will oversee strategic projects for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), which will take place in the city in November this year.
Lula is also expected to visit locations such as Parque da Cidade, situated between Brigadeiro Protásio Avenue, Júlio Cézar Ribeiro Avenue, Senador Lemos Avenue, and the Daniel Berg Viaduct Complex in Belém. Additionally, the president is scheduled to fly over projects such as macro-drainage and urbanization in the Tucunduba and Murutucu basins.
The International Waterway Terminal of Belém, the Museum of the Amazons, and the expansion of Belém Airport are among the sites President Lula is expected to visit in the capital of Pará.
Error
During an interview with Rádio Diário FM, in Macapá, the capital of the state of Amapá, Lula mistakenly stated that the COP30 headquarters, which will take place in November this year in Pará, would be in the state of Amapá.
At another moment, President Lula referred to the capital as a state. “We are going to hold COP30, where Amapá will present itself as a model state for environmental preservation. Macapá, possibly being the Brazilian state with the least deforestation at this moment […] So, when we decided to hold COP in Amapá, it was because we wanted to say: ‘stop talking about the Amazon and come see the Amazon’,” he said.
