BOA VISTA (RR) – A Paradise model aircraft, registration PU-MKT, used for drug trafficking and operations in illegal mining areas, was destroyed by Security Forces in Roraima. The plane, which was in irregular condition, was found on a clandestine airstrip in the Truaru region, on the banks of the Uraricuera River, in the rural area of Boa Vista. During the operation, four individuals were detained and taken to the Federal Police (PF) headquarters.
The operation was carried out through an integrated effort involving teams from the Civil Police of Roraima (PC-RR), the Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama), and the National Public Security Force (FNSP).
According to the PC-RR, the investigation began after a report stated that an aircraft used for drug trafficking had landed on a clandestine airstrip in the Truaru region five days earlier. It was also reported that the pilot and another individual were camping on a nearby farm.

The teams began their investigation based on the registered report. In addition to being used for drug trafficking, the aircraft also provided logistical support for illegal mining activities. Authorities identified the campsite where the suspects were waiting to continue their criminal activities.
Based on Decree 6,514/2008, which regulates the Environmental Crimes Law and allows the destruction of products and instruments used in environmental offenses when their transport or storage becomes unfeasible, or when they pose significant risks to the environment and public safety, the aircraft was destroyed.
Ibama’s team, with police support, carried out the destruction of the plane on-site to prevent its reuse in illicit activities. The PC-RR confirmed that investigations related to drug trafficking will continue based on the collected evidence.

Suspects Detained
During the operation, A.J.L.O., a 24-year-old identified as the aircraft’s pilot, was found at the location along with three other suspects. All were taken to the Federal Police headquarters in Boa Vista.
According to Marcus Albano, head delegate of the Drug Enforcement Division (DRE), the operation highlights the importance of collaboration between agencies in successfully combating drug trafficking and other illegal activities.
“This action demonstrates that, when we work together, we can weaken criminal networks involved in both drug trafficking and illegal mining, thereby protecting not only the environment but also public safety”, he emphasized.
The PC-RR continues its investigation with the goal of identifying and holding all those involved in the criminal activities accountable.
