MANAUS (AM) – The dean of the University of the State of Amazonas (UEA), André Zogahib, received, on Tuesday night, 25, the Entrepreneur Merit Trophy of Commerce – Innovation Category. The recognition is the result of the institution’s partnership with the Korean multinational Samsung, in the Ocean Brasil project.
The award was presented by the Federation of Trade in Goods, Services and Tourism of Amazonas (Fecomércio-AM) during the CNC Innovation Day, held at the Manauara Theater, on Avenida Mário Ypiranga, Adrianópolis neighborhood, South-Central Zone of Manaus.

“The demand we have is much greater than what we can offer professionals. Our professionals are extremely well trained, extremely qualified and desired by the labor market. This is a project that deserves all the recognition”, said the rector of UEA.
Technology in daily routine
Currently, Ocean Brasil in Amazonas has 16 free training trails open to the general public. Classes are held at the training center installed at UEA’s School of Technology (EST).
Coordinator of the project for six years, Professor Silvio Marques points out that the courses available range from basic to advanced level and are related to areas commonly used in everyday life.
“Much is said about artificial intelligence, internet of things, metaverse, among others. So, people can come to Ocean to learn about these technologies, have access to very basic introductory courses, for those who do not know anything, and then we have more advanced courses, in which people even start working with programming “, he explained to CENARIUM MAGAZINE.
Ocean in Amazonas
In Manaus, Ocean is the result of the partnership established between UEA and the Korean multinational Samsung, which decided to implement Ocean in Brazil (in the branch in São Paulo) and, in 2014, in the Amazon territory. The laboratories are the first of their kind outside South Korea, the company’s homeland.
Samsung invests part of its revenue for research and development (R&D) in several initiatives around the world. The goal of installing these training centers outside the company’s headquarters is to create an ecosystem of professionals who are able to use Samsung tools and propose content and service solutions for the brand’s devices.
Ocean Brazil Project
With monthly schedules of activities and courses in face-to-face and remote formats, Samsung Ocean is Samsung’s technological training program. The program’s activities are completely free and offer a certificate of participation to the concluding students.
The complete schedule of Ocean activities, as well as registration, are available on the project’s official website.
