MANAUS (AM) – Medical students from Santo Amaro University, in São Paulo, were expelled from InterMed, a sports competition between universities, last Saturday, 16, after simulating collective masturbation during a women’s volleyball match.

In the images published online, more than 20 men appear running around the court with their pants down, simulating an ‘Olympic Lap’, while touching their private parts. In another video, it is possible to see the students in an audience, watching the women’s game and simulating masturbation.

Crime

The act of the group of students can be classified under art. 215 of the Penal Code as a crime of sexual harassment, with a penalty of 1 to 5 years in prison. UOL revealed in a 2022 report that the practice is seen as a ‘tradition’ by the inmates.

Messages in WhatsApp groups captured by the report showed that freshmen received a list of events and were warned about tournaments and championships taking place at the university. “The tradition of the bixos [sic] men at the opening is to run naked on the court with the other faculties,” says one of the participants.

Social networks

On social networks, people spoke out against the practice and called for punishment. In Amazonas, state deputy Alessandra Campelo highlighted the crime committed by the group of men. “As I say, being a woman is an act of courage!” she wrote.

In addition to her, internet users are flooding Unisa’s comments demanding a position on the expulsion of the students from the university. As of the publication of this report, the university has not commented on what action should be taken against the students.
