MANAUS – In the seventh episode of the show CENARIUM INTERVIEW, journalist Liliane Araújo talked with the delegate-general of the Amazonas Civil Police (PC-AM), Emília Ferraz. In the weekly interview that is aired every Tuesday, at 7pm, on TV Cenarium’s YouTube channel, Emília, first woman to occupy the post in the state, shares part of her trajectory and how she has been acting in front of the AM’s PC in the last two years.
Emília highlights the desire to see more women in prominent positions in the market and within the institutions. “Women still today experience a huge disproportion when it comes to leadership positions. I always call for us women to have more sorority and to have more opportunities to assume leadership positions in all functions. I opened the door and I really hope that other delegates will take this position in this institution that I love so much”, emphasizes the delegate.

Challenges
In relation to the two years of management, Emília Ferraz made a point of highlighting remarkable moments as the peak period of the pandemic caused by Covid-19. According to the delegate, even in an atypical scenario, the police as a whole acted in the best possible way to protect and welcome the population.
“During these two years of management, we have presented a very good work, fruit of the work of each committed police officer. During the pandemic, we took oxygen to the hospitals, we were in the streets preventing people from walking around without masks, thus contaminating more people. It was a job beyond what was normally done. The colleagues showed solidarity, volunteered, and went to the streets to help the population. I am grateful”, says Emília.
New mechanisms
During the interview, the delegate highlighted some implementations to modernize the operational and administrative system of the Civil Police. Among the actions to improve the services available are the creation of the Cyber Crimes Police Station, focused on crimes committed in the digital environment. There is also the computerization of the entire system, reducing, even, the circulation of paper, making the administrative processes more secure, according to the delegate.
“Besides these changes, agreements were signed with the Ministry of Justice for the implementation of internet in the countryside, which are in progress. We also have internal systems that have been changed. It is a positive work as a whole,” she says.
