BELÉM (PA) – The vessel “O Marujo” is the vehicle that will carry the structure of an inflatable cinema, together with a team of producers and artists, to hold an itinerant film show in riverside communities in 12 municipalities in Pará.
In the months of July, August and September 2023, the fluvial cinema expedition will pass through the cities of Juruti, Juruti Velho, Oriximiná, Óbidos, Curuá, Alenquer, Belterra, Santarém, Monte Alegre, Prainha, Almerim, Porto de Moz, and Gurupá. In Belém the show should take place in October, and will tour the neighborhoods of the capital of Pará.
The main objective of the project is to democratize access to cinema, through the free exhibition of films on the shores, ports and squares of the cities visited. In addition to showing films, training and initiation workshops will also be held on audiovisual content.
Educational films
Sponsored by Equatorial Energia, through the SEMEAR Law, and carried out by the Cultural Foundation of Pará and the Government of the State of Pará, the project will hold two days of outdoor film screenings in each municipality, bringing the seventh art to populations with little or no access to cinema.
The films that are part of the circuit are essentially educational, national and with diverse themes, aimed at all age groups. “In some places where we will anchor, we will serve isolated riverside communities, such as indigenous villages and quilombola populations, who have never had access to cinema. And the idea is to use cinema as a tool for articulation, entertainment and transmission of knowledge, provoking reflections and enriching the cultural repertoire of these communities “, says the project coordinator, André Monteiro.
The project also takes two artists, who will fulfill the role of workshops and audience animators. The carioca Carlos Eduardo Hryhorckzuk (Professor Caduco Clown), art educator, clown, actor, juggler and acrobat, full degree in Performing Arts from the University of Rio de Janeiro – Uni-Rio (2006) and formed by the National Circus School; and the paraibano Nascimento Alves da Silva (Magician Zambone), actor, clown and humorist with more than 10 years throughout Brazil. He has in his curriculum passages by TV Brasil, SBT and Globo, in the program “Domingão do Faustão”.
The Cine Energia project
The Cine Energia project had its first edition in 2021, when film shows were held in 12 municipalities in Pará. The second edition of the project was postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic, and now takes place in a circuit entitled by the directors “route of hope”, bringing art, entertainment and messages of hope to communities that were severely impacted by covid-19.
