Airplane makes emergency landing at Manaus International Airport

MANAUS (AM) – A Gol Airlines airplane landed at 3:15 pm (Manaus time), after declaring an emergency, at Eduardo Gomes International Airport, in the West Zone of Manaus. The airplane left Santarém, in the State of Pará, at 15h11 (Brasília time) bound for the capital of Amazonas, with a flight forecast of 1h10, and that same plane would go to Brasília, but due to the problem the flight had to be canceled.

The G3 2149 plane carried more than 150 people, including passengers and crew. A team from the Fire Department was mobilized to accompany the landing of the aircraft. According to passenger reports, the crew was not informed of the state of emergency.

According to the Brazilian Group for Operational Safety of Airport Infrastructure, declaring the condition of Emergency or Urgency is of paramount importance for the pilot to receive full support from air traffic control, as well as allowing better management of the situation to be carried out, and may even prevent an accident or incident from occurring.

In a note, the Military Fire Department of Amazonas (CBMAM) reported that military personnel accompanied the landing. In addition, all the corporation’s stations in the capital were on alert for possible intercurrence. However, no action by the troops was necessary, as the aircraft landed, at 3:15 pm, in complete safety.

Sought by CENARIUM MAGAZINE’s report team, the company Gol Airlines reported that a technical problem was reported on the aircraft, which went for maintenance at Eduardo Gomes International Airport. The entire procedure complied with safety protocols and the aircraft was disembarked normally.

The aircraft is still under maintenance and, as a consequence, flight G3 2149, between Manaus and Brasilia, had to be canceled. All customers are receiving the appropriate treatment. Gol reinforces that all actions regarding the flight were taken with a focus on Safety, the company’s number one value.

Vinci Airports, which manages Eduardo Gomes International Airport, reported that an aircraft made an emergency landing at 3:15 pm on Monday, 24. All safety procedures were adopted and the plane was able to land smoothly. The airport continues to operate normally.
