MANAUS – The third day of the festival “Águas que me Tocam” (in english ‘Waters that touch me’), broadcasted online, Fridays, from 20h, on YouTube, will address the relationship between river and dance in the works produced by the guests: the dancer Edcléia Jucá and the director and playwright Fabiano Barros. Idealized and presented by Juraci Júnior, the episode will have “O Rio que se Move em Mim” (in english ‘The river that moves in me’) as its theme.

“Waters are essential to human life, as are our relationships, our affections, and our sharing. Bringing the rivers as a main source of inspiration within the festival is to realize the creation and transpiration of so many Amazonian artists, who influenced by everyday life in urban centers or riverside territories and create very rich artistic works,” said the presenter.

Festival is a regional cultural product of Casa do Rio Filmes (Promotion)

The multi-artistic event is a regional cultural product of Casa do Rio Filmes, contemplated by the Edital nº 32/2021/Sejucel-Codec – 2nd Edition Pacaás Novos – Award for Diffusion of Artistic-Cultural Festivals, Shows, and Fairs. Law 14.017/2020 of the Aldir Blanc Law. The initiative contemplates works in several artistic languages, using as background the relationship between people, arts, and the city with the river. In total, there will be five episodes, with screenings always on Fridays.

“Our festival proposes a dialogue about this diversity of language and gives pride of place to these creators, who defend and fight for the preservation of memory, of popular knowledge, and also for the maintenance of the environment. The experience of each one of them made possible the creation of several artistic works, about ourselves, and to see everything integrated in our festival is an opportunity to follow a little bit of the trajectory of our artists in the city”, highlighted Juraci Júnior.

‘The River that Moves in Me’

The third episode of the festival includes the screening of the video performance-dance “The River that Moves in Me”, created by Edcléia for the event, the result of her research on Amazonian dancing bodies. Distanced from classical ballet, in which the artist has a background, Edcléia Jucá immerses herself in the region with the production of the short film.

“She immerses herself in the experience of being an Amazonian woman, with a body that extrapolates the common sense of a boss and brings to the scene the freedom of the woman who dances. It is an interesting research about the multiple possibilities of art, crossed by the flow of the waters and that made her reflect about her own cabocla identity. Thus, she presents at the festival a video-performance-dance called ‘The river that moves in me'”, Juraci emphasized.

“The two works will be presented in the third episode of the Festival and I will bring the two guests for a chat about the initiatives”, reinforced Juraci.
