VILHENA (RO) – Despite having suffered a “serious attack” last Sunday, 8, democracy “won once again”, in the evaluation of the lawyer Ramires Andrade, heard on Monday, 9, by CENARIUM MAGAZINE. For the lawyer, “the attacks promoted by bolsonarists/nazifascists, to the National Congress, the Planalto Palace and the Supreme Court headquarters, should be classified as acts of terrorism”.
More than 1,500 participants of the extremist acts, seen as an attempt at a coup d’état, have already been arrested as of this Monday, September 9. To investigate the conduct of other members of the invasion of the Three Powers in the federal capital, the Public Ministry of Rondônia (MPRO) and the Federal Public Ministry in the State (MPF-RO) have opened channels for the population to report anyone who has participated in the affront to the maintenance of the democratic rule of law.
How to report
The entities invite residents of Rondônia who know or know of someone, or of some information about the January 8th invasion, or of future anti-democratic acts, to share this information.
PUBLICIDADE
There are three very simple ways: if the denunciation is for the MPRO, all you have to do is call the ombudsman number, 127. It is also possible to pass on information by WhatsApp, at (69) 9 9977-0127, or by email, at [email protected]. If the complaint is addressed to the MPF, in Rondônia, just access the virtual citizen’s room.
In a public note released on Monday, the MPF-RO says that, under the determination of the Attorney General of the Republic (PGR), it will monitor any occurrences of anti-democratic acts in the state.
“The MPF in Rondônia is fully available and alert to act in support of the PGR. The goal is to prevent criminal acts, such as those that occurred in Brasilia (DF) this Sunday, 8, to multiply in other units of the federation”, said the entity.
Terrorism
For the lawyer Ramires Andrade, the outrageous episodes committed by extremist groups, supporters of former president Jair Bolsonaro, who vandalized Brasilia and destroyed the headquarters of the Three Branches of the Republic, besides being repudiated in the strongest terms, must be fought with rigor proportional to its gravity.
“The appalling attacks promoted by these terrorist groups, in Brasília, besides destroying public buildings and goods, historical patrimony of inestimable value, reflect one of the most serious attacks to the democratic structure of our Republic. However, it is necessary to reaffirm: in our democratic regime there is no room for such barbarism”, he told CENARIUM.
He notes that, the “delinquents”, as he classifies the protesters, by performing such unlawful acts, can be framed in the Anti-Terrorism Law (13.260/2016).
“To my feeling, it stems from flagrant discrimination, by virtue of political and philosophical convictions, to the extent that they accuse members of the Lula Government of being ‘communists’ and, because of this, promote chaos with the intention of imposing, with extreme violence, their extremist political ideals”, categorizes Ramires Andrade.
“As it is known”, he continues, “these nazifascist organizations are being organized, encouraged and sponsored since before the defeat of Jair Bolsonaro in the 2022 elections. Therefore, all those who in any way contributed to these attacks must be investigated and identified, including the perpetrators, sponsors, financial backers, and those who could/should have prevented them but did not”, the lawyer further explained.
Inexcusable from grace or amnesty, besides being non-bailable, the crime of terrorism can result in sentences ranging from 12 to 30 years in prison for the participants of the attempted coup, which took place last Sunday, October 8.
“It was appalling, but our democracy has not been shaken”, concluded Ramires Andrade
