MANAUS – Four commissioned officials, who receive high salaries paid by taxpayers to work in the office of Senator Eduardo Braga support (MDB), appeared in the list of expenses of his campaign as a candidate for State Government, according to crossings of data on the websites of the Electoral Justice and the Transparency Portal of the Federal Senate.
According to the site of the Electoral Justice, Francisco Roberto Duarte da Silva, Miguel Capobiango Neto, Nadia Cristina Davila Ferreira and Ubiracy Bezerra de Araújo, who have commissioned positions in the Senate, appear in the rendering of accounts of the campaign Braga, in the list of payment of “expenses”, each linked to the value of R$ 1.5 thousand, with the description “estimated service donation”.
By data from the Transparency Portal of the Senate, Francisco Duarte, Miguel Capobiango and Nadia Ferreira received, until September this year, salaries of R$ 22,9 thousand as a parliamentary aide Braga. Ubiracy, better known as “Bira”, the senator’s driver, received in September, from Senate, R$ 11.2 thousand as a senior parliamentary assistant.

Francisco Duarte was Secretary of Communication in Braga’s administration as governor of the state. Miguel Capobiango was manager of the Management Unit of the World Cup Project in Amazonas (UGP Copa), created by Braga in December 2010. Nadia Ferreira was state secretary of Sustainable Development, also in Braga’s administration.
The driver
“Bira” has been Braga’s driver since the 1980s. In 2003, during the administration of governor Eduardo Braga, he was appointed adviser to the Board of Directors of the Companhia de Saneamento do Amazonas (Cosama). The appointment was published in the Diário Oficial do Estado (DOE) on June 2, 2003. In addition to being a board member of Cosama, “Bira” had a position of trust as sub-chief of Braga’s personal office, with salaries totaling R$ 16.4 thousand, as reported at the time, the newspaper Diário do Amazonas.
