MANAUS – The Ethics Committee of the City Council of Boca do Acre, located 1.026 kilometers from Manaus, should investigate the conduct of councilman Jansen Almeida (Avante) and the vice president of the House, Roderick Costa (PSC), who exchanged aggressions during the ordinary session held on Tuesday, 28.

The disagreement started after an alleged breach of the rules of the House, where the order of speech in the session that Roderick was chairing was not respected. In a video that viralized on social networks, you can see the heated discussion between the two parliamentarians, who after the discussion, went to assaults.

“Are you afraid? Are you afraid to listen to me?”, shouts Jansen while Roderick is pushed away by security guards and other parliamentarians. CENARIUM MAGAZINE contacted the advisors of the parliamentarians, but as of the publication of this story there was no response.

The security team, advisors, and other councilmen helped to contain the tempers for a while, but in a second video it is possible to see the situation getting out of control and other councilmen and advisors exchanging aggressions. “Coward! This guy is not in our favor!”, says a man during a video recording.

Pronouncement

The parliamentarians pronounced themselves through social networks. Jansen Almeida published a 9-minute video, where he speaks in the House about the exchange of aggressions and threats. Councilman Jonnathan Beserra (PP), is also mentioned as one of the people involved in the confusion.

At the beginning of the speech, Jansen asks for one of the municipal guards to be present next to him while he speaks. “I’m afraid that with my speech here, councilman Jonnathan will come at me like he did just now”, he said.

Jansen states that he has suffered attacks coming from councilman Roderick and councilwoman Genésia Rodrigues (PP). “The councilwoman Genésia said that I hope that things in Boca do Acre go wrong”, the parliamentarian then talks about the work he does visiting the community and charging the city for improvements. “I’m the one who’s rooting for things to go wrong? There is a popular saying that goes: those who keep quiet, consent. The one who is silent is councilwoman Genesia, who accepts everything the mayor says”, says the parliamentarian. Jansen ends his speech asking for the creation of a CPI to investigate the mayor of Boca do Acre, José Maria Silva da Cruz.

By social networks, the parliamentary and vice president of the House, Roderick Costa, also spoke about the case. He revealed that he went to the police station to register an occurrence report because of the aggressions suffered and said that it all started by Jansen’s interference in the speech order.

“It all started with his father, who wanted to make a private ‘little show’ once again, wanting to intimidate me. But this I will not accept. Charges can happen, as I said, but never try to intimidate me”, he says.

Roderick says that he only reacted to the aggressions suffered, “Do I have to put my hand behind my back and be silenced? Negative”, he says. “Everyone knows what the fuss was about, he wasn’t defending the workers, it was because he wanted me to speak out and he after me, but since I was assuming the presidency I was going to speak out at the end and that’s when the fuss started”, he explained.
