Two days before the election, governor of Amazonas has 59.2% of valid votes, says Pontual Research

MANAUS – Another survey, released on Friday, 28, shows Governor Wilson Lima (União Brasil), candidate for re-election, ahead in the race for the Government of Amazonas, in the second round. He has 59.2% and his opponent Eduardo Braga (MDB) has 40.8%, according to Pontual Research. The difference between the two is 18.4 percentage points.
The survey was conducted in person in ten municipalities in the Amazon: Itacoatiara, Manacapuru, Parintins, Coari, Tefé, Maués, Iranduba, Tabatinga, Manicoré, and Manaus. In the interior of the state, Wilson Lima is also ahead, with 59%, and Braga has 41%. In the capital Manaus, the percentage is 59.4% and 40.6%, respectively.

The Pontual Research Institute also made a picture of the evolution of the candidates for the Government of Amazonas, in this second round, based on surveys previously made. Data from the October 7, 14 and 21 polls were collected, in addition to the one released this Friday, October 28. The candidates have stabilized, with Wilson Lima gaining advantage over Braga.
Lima had 58% of the valid votes on October 7 and 14. On the 21st of this month, he reached 59.2% and now has 59.2%. Eduardo Braga was also stable in the first two polls of Pontual Pesquisas, with 42%. In the following, he fell to 40.8%, where he remained.
The survey
Pontual Research interviewed 1,996 people, between October 25 and 27. It was registered at the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) and received the identification number AM-02967/2022. The registration of the statistician in charge, Alice Assis, at Conre-7 is 9079, and the company’s registration at Conre-7 is 8260.
The survey was carried out with a previously validated form, corresponding to a maximum margin of error of 2.2 percentage points more or less, considering a confidence interval of 95%. The collections obeyed the sampling calculations determined for the municipalities and the capital.
