Governor of Amazonas will talk to Lula about the Free Trade Zone, environmental and border issues

MANAUS – Still without an agenda scheduled with president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), the governor of Amazonas, Mr. Wilson Lima (Union Brazil), told CENARIUM MAGAZINE that he intends to meet with the President of the Republic to discuss “sensitive issues” to the Amazon, as the Manaus Free Trade Zone, environmental and border issues.

The head of the state executive is in Brasilia (DF) on Wednesday, 4, where he must meet with ministers.

“We have sensitive issues here, the Manaus Free Trade Zone, environmental issues and also border issues”, he told the report.

In the federal capital, Mr. Lima will be in possession of the new president of the Interstate Consortium for Sustainable Development of the Amazon, Mr. Helder Barbalho, and still want to meet with the Minister of Communications, Mr. Juscelino Filho (União Brasil), and Tourism, Mrs. Daniela Carneiro (União Brasil), to discuss the expansion of public television Amazonas, the TV Encontro das Águas, and the opening of the state to receive more international flights.

“We must talk to the Minister of Communications the issue of the expansion of our public television, our television and also radio Encontro das Águas, which is important for Seduc, the Sepror and other services of the state”, said Mr. Lima. “In the Ministry of Tourism, has some guidelines that are important, as the international flights that we are bringing here, so that we transform the state of Amazonas in a ‘hub'”, he explained.

In civil aviation, hub is the term used to designate airports that serve as a distribution centre of flights and passengers, concentrating a large number of connections.

In the last election, Wilson Lima supported former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who failed to get re-elected. The state governor said on Sunday, January 1, during a swearing-in ceremony at the Teatro Amazonas, that bets on dialogue for rapprochement with the new federal government and that will not have difficulties to align with the petista government.

“I have not yet talked with the president-elect, but the Amazon can not stay without talking to the federal government. The time for this will happen and will be known to the press”, he said.
