New phase of the Permanent State Aid benefits more than 2 thousand people and moves commerce in Amazonas

MANAUS – More 2.245 thousand Permanent State Aid cards were delivered to low-income families, in a new phase of the income distribution program of the Amazonas State Government. With this, altogether, 300 thousand families have access to the credit of R$ 150 monthly.

The new phase of the campaign was implemented after families cancelled their registration because they no longer fit the criteria to receive the aid. The delivery of the cards began on Monday, 30, and will run until Saturday, February 4, at the State Center for Family Coexistence (CECF) Teonízia Lobo, in the Mutirão neighborhood, between East and North zones of the capital.

According to the state government, people with disabilities, the elderly, and families headed by women have priority in receiving the assistance. The criteria are: to be a head of household who is 18 years old or older, to be a beneficiary of Bolsa Família or not, and to be in poverty or extreme poverty, with a family income of up to half a minimum wage.

Increasing the economy of the 62 municipalities, the permanent aid puts more than R$ 40 million in circulation in the state. A resident of the Cidade Nova district, José Antônio says that the aid comes at a good time. “I’m leaving here and going to the supermarket to buy two chickens, eggs, rice, beans and flour for my family”, he said.

During the delivery of cards, the governor of Amazonas, Wilson Lima, He stressed the importance of aid for the economy of the state. “Previously, we delivered food baskets with products that came from the capital, today we deliver cards that turn the economy of grocery stores and grocery stores of the municipalities. This is important because it generates income for the merchants”, he pointed out.

The State Aid is the largest income transfer program in the history of Amazonas and guarantees food security for the population in poverty and extreme poverty. Besides ensuring the dignity of those who need it most, the program boosts the economic growth of small businessmen.

The benefit provides, on a monthly basis, with resources for the purchase of a basic food basket, at the same time that it increases the economy of the 62 municipalities, putting more than R$ 40 million in circulation.
